I believe it all depends on the weight. I used to just weigh at the SAM machines that has weighing scale and buy postage. You can choose the type of posting ie air, surface. Took 1 week for my package to arrive to the US which is not registered but also 1 week to Brunei and Indonesia with registered post (registered can only be done at Singpost branches). Well, it's all from experience but nothing to the UK. Hehe.
@heavenlygorgeous: yepp, i did do my 'research' there before posting this up.. but as stated those are charges for Letters, Printed Papers And Small Packets.. i was wondering how much it'll cost for small packages.
@xhilzahx: i wonder if we can mail out small packages to the UK the same way we mail them locally. because speedpost charges seems so high!
Babe, if time is not a concern, perhaps u can just opt for the normal air mail. Just ensure it's securely wrapped up. If you want to ensure that it will safely reach the receiver, maybe u can opt for registered too. Just enquire at the post office. FYI, I've not tried speedpost either. I've posted irregular sized packages overseas with no problems.
@xhilzahx: Normal Air Mail? hmmm.. Registered, definitely. I dont think time is a concern, i just need it to arrive safely. It's not a Christmas gift or anything, just a swap.
Any idea if i can post small boxes via air mail too? as long as i'm withing the weight limit, issit?
You can post anything as long as its not aerosoles, liquids or cash I belive but heck, I usually write it as something else on the customs declaration green tag. LOL. I'm not sure about the weight limit but I'm 100% sure you can post a small or big package even though it's irregular shaped be it in a box or not.
